First off, let me say how grateful I am to be able to contact a person directly in a local office and not a centralized call center. It is peace of mind. Earlier in the week, I had taken my child to a provider in a different location/ provider group(not Atrium). I called the same provider office to try and do a follow-up as my child's condition was deteriorating. I ended up in a circular conversation with a staff member who was not conveying my concern nor communication accurately. I decided to go to the nearest ER, when I was told by a family member about Atrium's Urgent Care and ability to do imaging. I am so glad I stopped at Atrium. This is my first visit to this location. From the moment I walked in, Lateasa expressed great compassion and appropriate urgency. She handled the check-in(and out) so professionally. The nurse (unfortunately, I didn't pay attention enough to her name, Nancy?) was also very reassuring, efficient, thorough, and let us know what to expect. Joshua Russ, PA came in and went over history, was thorough in his physical exam, and accurate with his diagnosis. He didn't order uneccessary tests/diagnotics. We discussed rationale and a treatment plan. Pt. teaching and paperwork was provided, along with an NSAID for fever reduction and comfort. The prescription was digitally sent to the correct pharmacy. Everything was so smooth and absolutely seamless from my perspective. I'm impressed. By the way, I'm an RN who worked in a hospital setting for years but didn't mention it because it's important to me to be treated like anyone else and no assumptions made. My child is recovering extremely well now, thanks to the Joshua and the Atrium staff. I'll definitely come back for future urgent care needs and will recommend this care center to the community for the compassion, knowledge, and quality care I experienced.
