Tamara Koontz is an excellent listener and provider. I never feel rushed or hurried. Would definitely recommend her to anyone!
Tamara has always been kind, caring, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, thorough and so much more. I have dealt with migraines since I was 17 yrs old. No other provider in my entire life worked with me so diligently to find the right meds to help me. She has always encouraged me and provided suggestions and materials to help me with weight issues, quitting smoking (6 yrs now) and when I was shattered with grief she was compassionate and helpful suggesting grief counseling. I cant imagine not having her as my medical provider. She is truly loved by her patients.
I felt like I could talk with Tamara and she would listen. My problems were not taken lightly. She included me in the decision for my plan of care.

Excellence
She's a great listener and very timely with her MyAtrium responses. Listens to my concerns and provides excellent options. My items of issue are the yearly deferring of breast exams to gyn without asking me or discussing it during the annual exam. I don't see a gyn. since I've had a total hysterectomy. My prior PCP always performed my breast exams. There is also no abdomen palpation to feel for anomalies and the MA asks your height instead of checking it. As aging women over 50 it's imperative to have a yearly height ck to monitor bone loss. I find it odd to have a "physical exam" with no height check, breast exam or abdomen palpation. Times have changed in the last few years if that's the new norm. The Provider and staff are very pleasant and professional so I feel it's more of a what is the current standard of care for an annual exam question more than anything else.
Tamara did a great job discussing and reviewing my health status during my visit. She took ample time to do an excellent job. She is very pleasant to work with.
