Biography
“I often feel we have so much unfinished business in medicine and research, and this is what moves me forward. I love taking care of patients who are the unicorns of gastrointestinal (GI) issues, meaning those with difficult-to-diagnose and chronic medical conditions for which we currently do not have answers. It’s a gift to be able to enhance someone's quality of life by making simple changes, whether it’s their diet or their mental or physical health.”
Dr. Moshiree is board certified in gastroenterology. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to poor intestinal motility, including gastroparesis, intestinal dysmotility and pseudo-obstruction. She also specializes in pelvic floor disorders, chronic idiopathic constipation, neurogenic bowel, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), carbohydrate malabsorption or intolerance, eosinophilic GI conditions, esophageal motility disorders and achalasia (food cannot pass into the stomach).
She is the director of motility for the Atrium Health Department of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Moshiree was honored with the Atrium Health Teal Acorn Award for Academic Preceptor of the Year and the Wake Forest University Established Investigator in Clinical/Population Science Award. She is the American College of Gastroenterology Governor for North Carolina and a council member of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society. She is the associate editor of the American Journal of Gastroenterology.
She received a master’s degree in clinical investigation and her medical degree from the University of Florida and completed residency at Virginia Commonwealth University.
When not working, Dr. Moshiree enjoys outdoor activities like exercising, swimming, scuba diving in the ocean and visiting the beach. Her favorite vacations are those with her parents and good friends. She loves going to concerts and movies. She considers herself an old soul and prefers older, classic films and has a keen interest in the history of the 1920s.

Dr. Moshiree is amazing! I feel blessed to have met her and be able to call her my doctor. She is patient, kind, compassionate, caring, and listens closely / tentatively when you're speaking. She thoroughly explains everything, options, treatment availability, diagnoses, etc. Absolutely love Dr. Moshiree.
Dr. Mo is the Sweetest most Caring Dr. I Love engaging with her, she is very thorough and precise with my health care. Dr. Mo listens to my concerns and addresses them. I am very Thankful and Grateful to have her as my Doctor.
It was such a great doctor visit. Dr. Moshiree, the FNP Eva, and the nutritionist Kayla were all amazing. They listened intently to me regarding my health issues and collaborated both with me and with each other regarding next steps. I cannot say enough about how I was treated and how pleased I am with their service.
To all of atrium providers: learn active listening skills.
Dr. Moshiree is a wonderful doctor. She is very personable and knowledgeable.
Was great the woman that did the procedure was wonderful . She was great great ! She was very easy going, calm, pleasant! I truly thank her!
The appointment felt rushed, I did not feel that the doctor had enough time to explain things to me thoroughly. It is also frustrating that this provider is not able to manage my care, because the more providers a patient has to see, not only is it more complicated for the patient, but there's also less continuity of care, things get lost in the shuffle, and the patient suffers. I also had to call 6 to 7 times and speak to an office manager before I was able to schedule an appointment.
The physican is great. However the nurse never responds appropriate to my calls or messages. I think it is very frustrating when the office staff impacts your care. But would not want to lose provider
Dr. Moshiree really cares about her patients. She takes time to listen to concerns and will do everything possible to find a solution for your problem.
