Dr. Borders is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and specializes in minimally invasive hysterectomies and contraceptive management.
She is passionate about preventing teenage pregnancies, and she is working with others at Atrium Health to prevent maternal health disparities.
Dr. Borders is the senior medical director of the women's service line for the Southeast region of Atrium Health. Additionally, she is a past chair of the North Carolina section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the former regional OB champion for the North Carolina Maternal Health Innovation Grant and Pregnancy Medical Home.
Dr. Borders is a Shelby, North Carolina, native who received her medical degree and completed residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Shelby with her husband and 2 sons and enjoys trying new recipes and traveling in her spare time. She is very involved in her community, serving on various boards.

Most RecentI feel very comfortable having Dr Borders as a health professional. It just takes a long time to get an appointment with her! Being a caring caregiver is probably the reason it takes a long time to schedule an appointment with her!

This was my first encounter with this doctor. She was very kind and caring.
This particular doctor may be good for others but personally for me I would rather see someone else. This was just not a good experience for me. I had seen this particular doctor before and had an idea about how it would probably go. I just did not want to wait too long from my last appointment that I had and she was one of the few that was available.
Dr Borders is a wonderful Doctor.
