I expressed having severe facial pain either from my teeth or a facial nerve. Jessica, the nurse practitioner I saw, had no clue what I was talking about and proceeded to search up a google image for reference. She was generally unfriendly, laughed at the fact I "obviously" hadn't had a regular doctor's visit in awhile, and was very unhelpful. I felt judged the entire time by her attitude and her lack of knowledge. All she did was look in my mouth at my teeth, and basically said she couldn't do anything for me. She also told her own personal story of food getting stuck in a tooth and needing to rinse it, mind you I had informed her rinsing causes pain and with my extensive broken teeth and dental needs it wasn't something I could easily do. And I knew my pain was not caused by food in a broken tooth. And that a lot of my issues with my teeth stem from my poor mental health, but I was worried about this pain being a larger issue than just generic dental woes. Regardless, it felt like she wasn't willing to truly listen to me. So it was an unpleasant experience all around. The only good thing about the visit was the lovely nurse who brought me back and took my vitals. She seemed far more caring, attentive, and knowledgeable than the nurse practitioner that was masquerading as a doctor. If anything, I'm sad I didn't catch her name. She was wonderful!
