Melissa Schramm and the other 2 people who assisted during my visit provided excellent care. They answered all my questions and explained everything. Initially, when I called the office to get an appointment, my experience was not great. I waited on the phone 2 different times for an hour and was then cut off. The reason I indicated that no one at the practice spoke to me about my diet, exercise, etc. in the last 6 months was because this is my first visit. So my only complaint is really the intial experience setting up my appointment.
The care provider was very kind & down to earth. She was explained & asked me thorough questions. The nurse was pleasant. The only thing is, the appointment felt a bit rushed. I wanted to really have deep in depth dialogue but that was prevented by the rushing. Atrium Health is so backed up with appointments that the doctors feel rushed to get to the next patient. The system has become confused & chaotic & is not keeping up with the growth of the region. There's not enough providers & staff to accommodate the new growth in the Charlotte region. Everything is booked out too far.

Very knowledgeable kind and understanding
It would be extremely helpful if the phone could be answered in a timely manner. I have tried to talk to someone twice , one time I stayed on the phone for 30 minutes and just yesterday stayed on the phone for 45 minutes, NO ONE ever answered. The machine would keep telling me how important my call was. I don't believe that.
